SUMMER

the summer was boring as shit waiting for the season and next month is going to be busy as shit with the the preseason, regular season, ccma's, jets vs bruins game, etc etc etc. this summer consisted of being a redneck, golfing (the oasis, check it out seriously), my birthday, crying over a first round exit (still)
, that sorta stuff.

A STEP CLOSER TO THE WHL SEASON

could also be titled "games i'm looking forward to this season".

12:00pm- so the 2012-13 season schedule is about to be announced in a couple hours (obviously not anymore). and of course i cannot be more excited. the preseason schedule (for the blades, at least) blows, with only one home game, sooo prince albert/regina, here i come!! last preseason we had five games, and this season we only have three. (ok so looking at the preseason schedule now it looks like they added another game, vs the raiders at home). i know training camp is almost exactly two months away, but theres nothing to look forward to this summer when it comes to hockey. i could make this post simple and say i am excited about every game (which really i am) but no. so first things first, i am preeeetty sure we will start off with a home and home vs the raiders (two wins in the bag?). usually the next game is the following weekend (total buzzkill). there is nothing worse than playing consecutive (like after two) games vs saskatchewan teams at home, so i hope we move across the map quick. it really sucked being the visiting team when playing the US division teams last season, so i am super excited to get to see those teams this season again. i would be comfortable betting you my memorial cup tickets, saying that we will be playing the oil kings either right before or right after the christmas break. i really hope our game vs victoria is earlier in the season, rather than in january like last season. i am glad saskatoon isnt hosting another big event during the season so i dont have to go SIXTEEN DAYS WITHOUT A HOME GAME. ahem, tim hortons brier... brutal, i know. and to end off the regular season, i would guess a home game (or possibly away, for a change) vs a saskatchewan team. i hope our red deer/calgary/edmonton roadie(s) is during the weekend (friday to monday?) so it make it alotttt easier to travel there for the games..for me at least. i hope there isnt a big string of brandon/prince albert/prince george/moose jaw/lethbridge games during a month or two, since i dont really get very excited about playing them. but i guess we will see the plans are in  a few hours :)

4:30- ahhhhhhhh its here!!! and i looooove the way it looks. i might of had a tiny orgasm. haha. so duh we start off with our home and home. last season, our second home game was vs red deer, and its the same this season. the US division teams come early in the season which i am so pumped about. medicine hat comes on new years day for their first game in saskatoon and they can go fuck themselves already. our longest roadie is from november 10th to the 27th (the spand between two home games), which is our british columbia trip obviously. there is only three home games that month :( the red deer/calgary/edmonton games are split up this season, which blows. october 6 is our first game in edmonton, but i dont know, that might be too early in the season and its the only game on the trip. calgary/red deer games are late november/early december, then in late february. our last home game is march 9th vs regina (duh), and then the end of the season is super dumb. march 12 in edmonton, march 15 and 16 in prince albert... which makes less sense than a crop circle. another thing i dont like, our two home game vs the oil kings are only eleven days apart. i think it more fun having them spread apart, like one before the christmas break or trade deadline, and one after. my whole plan for making roadtrips to games is all wack now. a million chances to go to regina, not worried about that. i'll make one of the calgary/red deer ones, probably the earlier one. i really dont want to wait until the third last regular season game to go to edmonton, but early october seems maybe too early..but its a saturday, so who knows. i'd like to go to medicine hat but i might have to kill some people while i am there. i'd imagine i'll go to a couple games in prince albert, since well, its close and we play them like all 72 games. i also wanna go when edmonton is there, which is november 2nd, so thats not bad, and also february 5th.

i am so so excited for this season fucking duh. i cant wait to see what we are able to do leading up to the memorial cup. i hope i make it through the summer...

love you

SASKATOON BLADES 2012 SPRING CAMP

whl hockey!! sort of. so this weekend i got a little glimpse of the future, which looks quite nice, especially when it comes to the dmen. saw a couple familiar faces there, alex moodie obviously the main one. the games he played with us this season he was unreal. i would probably pick him over adam todd to be the backup from what I saw this past season. sucks for landyn hickmott (jordan's brother) who got smashed into the boards on saturday and had to go to the hospital...he said on sunday that he had a separated shoulder. i spent an awkward five or so minutes sitting in a dead quiet lobby with him while he waited to go to the hospital and waited for the other players to come out. yes I was on my phone the whole time..with no service in schroh arena. there were also quite a few players sporting a very nice flow (ahem christian stockl and wyatt hinson). cameron hebig and haydn hopkins both made me do a double take, since they're only 5'7 and 5'8. on sunday, some player hit macklin pichonsky into the boards and out popped the glass. but anyways it was a great weekend and I'm soooooo excited for training camp in august duh

bye whl :(

FAVOURITE 2011-12 WHL SEASON MOMENTS

ughhhhhhh i miss whl hockey already :( seriously this offseason can fuck itself already. this post is not very exciting.

1. CAMP: after a long offseason i was pumped to go watch camp at the end of august. seeing makarov there was like a breath of fresh air since stanford was an overager the season before and we eventually traded morrison. i didnt really like the part though when lukas sutter and dalton thrower almost ran me over in the parking lot.

2. PA HOME & HOME: of course we started off the season with a home and home vs the raiders. nice to see them suck early on. (seriously, when will they ever be good?)

3. VICTORIA: i couldnt wait to play the royals. chilliwack bruins whoooooo??

4. BURNS TRADE! sad to see bews and morrison go, but yay for michael burns! i remember liking him ever since seeing those "ask an oil king" videos.

5. PARADIS: getting jesse paradis from the warriors was so awesome. i really didnt think he would end up to be as helpful as he was. #paraparaparadise

6. MEMORIAL CUP: i remember exactly where i was when i read on twitter that we were hosting next season...in the shower. soooooo pumped to go!! suck it kelowna and red deer.

7. ALEX MOODIE: seriously what a beauty goalie. he played so good for us in the time that he could be with us. hopefully alot more mooooooooodie chants next season.

8. PACMAN: i swear the boys wore our vintage pacman jerseys for like ten games. i think there was a little superstition going on when we kept winning when we wore them...

9. JAKE'S FIGHT: oh you know it was coming. february 15th vs tanner eberle...but why didnt he do it at a home game??!!!!

10. PLAYOFFS: well, kinda. not the fact that we got swept, but the trip to medicine hat to see the first two playoff games. next season calls for trips to regina, vancouver and edmonton.

speaking of edmonton...

11. BANDWAGONING THE OIL KINGS: i swear i didnt just start bandwagoning them these playoffs, i have been since the beginning of the 2010-11 season. and i have allllllways wanted a blue third jersey. ive been crushing on the team for a while...

those are the ones i'm gonna post without it getting awkward.

EUROTRIP: GERMANY, AUSTRIA, ITALY & SWITZERLAND

just skip to the photos if you think my tweets about my vacation was enough.
so i just got back from my little trip. ten days in a country that is very different from your own is very overwhelming. also the eight hour time difference really gets you. we left saskatoon on friday the 6th, and came back yesterday. we flew to toronto, where we had no time to really do anything except get something for the plane. also, we ran into the team canada under 18 team. i'll leave it at that cause i will go on and on about it. we got delayed (for the second time) in toronto, because the cargo (?) door wouldnt close. then after an hour, it was fixed but then... something else broke. we were delayed for about 1.5 hours total. then it was 8 hours to frankfurt. once we got there, it was raining and we went on a little tour of the city. the worst thing about europe is that like 80% of the population smokes. it smells horrible everywhere you go. the food the first couple days was fine, then it got disgusting. italy (obviously) was the best with the pasta and pizza meals. on the second day, we went to a castle. a fucking huge one. we walked one mile up, in the rain and snow, which killed the legs. the castle tour was shit and not worth the walk. on monday, we went to dachau concentration camp. which was quite the eye opener. we saw alot of nazi/hitler things on the trip, plus the jail that hitler wrote some important book in. earlier than day, we went to bmw world, which was sick. they build custom beamers there too, for people. the next day, we were in innsbruck austria. we were there just for the day, so we just toured and shopped. the next day was a long bus ride to venice. that was all we did. so the next day, we shopped more and went to the beach. we also went on a boat (motherfucker) to "actual" venice. it rained all day. but i went shopping and found myself a louis store ;) we went on a gondola ride (the boat kind) in the rain. we got asked to call the driver "daddy" and when we said no, he tried to tip the boat haha. the next day we went to verona, and saw the romeo and juliet balcony. then we drove to switzerland, the land of chocolate and high prices. we went on another gondola, but the aerial kind. it was beautiful at the bottom, but at the top it was all snow and fog. so we couldnt see down the mountain. that night we went to a fondue night. the cheese fondue was shit, but the rest was alright. we danced, which i cannot do. also, a guy tebowed. the next day we went back to germany. we went to the rhine falls on the way, which was pretty awesome. and we went to the black forest and just ate cake. and saw some trees. then we shopped, and went to the hotel. i packed up all my shit then spent the last few hours with the people i met there. they were from newfoundland and all had a heavy accent like they were from texas or something. so then on sunday, we went to the airport and headed home. kind of bittersweet. we were almost late for our plane ride from toronto to winnipeg, which gerry dee was on :)

overall the trip was awesome. really different obviously but worth it in the end. probably will miss the late night hotel room talks with the girls about everything from blow jobs to fucking. that was it, EVERY. NIGHT.
